MIPI-DSI Interface LCD
MIPI-DSI is a commonly used high-speed serial interface on LCDs with high resolution and refresh rates. ESP32-P4 boasts several advanced features in hardware interfaces and graphic processing. It supports the MIPI-DSI interface, capable of outputting images in 24-bit RGB888 color format. Additionally, ESP32-P4 integrates a JPEG hardware codec and features 2D-DMA and Pixel Processing Accelerator (PPA) modules for graphics acceleration, ensuring excellent performance in image processing tasks such as scaling, rotation, and layer blending. Furthermore, the HP core of ESP32-P4 is equipped with 768 KB of on-chip SRAM. When external PSRAM is available, it can be used as cache access, providing more cache space for HMI applications, effectively improving the real-time responsiveness of screen display applications.

Advantages
Streamlined BOM
ESP32-S3 and ESP32-C3 are highly integrated SoCs with state-of-the-art RF performance, rich peripheral interfaces, and powerful computing capabilities. Customers can achieve wireless communication of devices and diverse HMI functions based on a single cost-effective SoC. ESP32-P4 boasts abundant on-chip resources and advanced storage subsystems, fully meeting the higher demands of next-generation embedded applications for HMI. In addition, the built-in temperature sensor provides high-temperature power-off and remote alarm functions.
Easy Development
Espressif’s HMI smart displays are supported by ESP-IDF, Espressif’s mature IoT development framework, with which users can easily build new applications. Also supported are LVGL GUI development and the SquareLine Studio tool, with which customers can develop elaborate UIs by a drag-and-drop operation without any additional knowledge of the LVGL API.
ESP RainMaker® and Matter
Our solutions support the Matter protocol, thus working seamlessly with other Matter-compliant devices. Combined with the ESP32-H SoCs, which support IEEE 802.15.4, Espressif’s HMI smart displays can be used for building Thread border routers or Matter bridges. On top of this, ESP RainMaker, which provides private Cloud services and remote control, also enables customers to build HMI products easily.
